Leave your mark by helping to build a school and make education accessible to children in rural India.
Many children living in rural areas of India have no opportunity to receive a proper education and end up with very little chance at supporting themselves and their family and they reach adulthood. Rural development and long term solutions are greatly needed to bring better quality of life and economic independence to each child living in these rural areas of India. Working alongside a local Non-profit we focus on rural development in Madurai, a town in South India that is affected by female infanticide and many other rural problems. Our goals is to improve the health, well-being and status of females and differently-abled in the villages, and combat the menace of female infanticide and foeticide through providing opportunity for the girl child to attend school and receive equal attention and care. To further these goals, the local Non-profit is constructing a center for integrated rural development near Usilampatti, an area near Madurai in South India that has been notorious for female infanticide in the past. As a volunteer to help rural development in Madurai, you will join the after school studies program to help children get better education. You can also help with the construction of the school that is currently being built to provide a long-term solution for providing education and care to children.
